February 23, 2005 was Election Reform Day at the New Mexico Legislature in Santa Fe. Organized by United Voters of New Mexico, members of Democracy for New Mexico, New Mexico Democratic Friends and others gathered at the Roundhouse for a press conference and speeches in support of election reform. Before and after the event, people lobbied legislators to include voting machines that provide voter verified paper ballots and automatic audit provisions in the election reform bill to be considered.
