Chavez for Congress New TV Ad: Marty Can Take the “Hits”
Today, former Albuquerque Mayor and current Congressional candidate Marty Chavez debuted a new television ad titled “Hits.”
Set in the historical Jack Candelaria/San Jose gym and filmed with local professional boxer Josh "Pit Bull" Torres (7-1-1, 5KOs), the spot reinforces that to get things done in Congress, you have to be able to take the hits from powerful interests.
Throughout his career, Marty has always taken the hits on behalf of New Mexican families. Whether it was as the ONLY elected official to testify to save Kirtland Air Force Base and nearly 7,000 jobsi, standing up to developers to pass one of the toughest green building codes in the nationii, suing the Bush Administration over greenhouse gas emissionsiii or supporting President Obama's fuel efficiency standardsiv, Marty has proved tough enough to get things done, even in the most hostile environments.
As President Bill Clinton said in endorsing Marty earlier this year, “I know that Marty will take on our big challenges, stand up to special interests, and fight to create clean energy jobs in New Mexico because he's proven time and again that he can get the job done.”

Marty’s ad says he “stood up to developers.” PANTS ON FIRE MARTY!!
We all know he’s funded by developers and real estate moguls. And here’s the proof.
If that Chavez guy wasn’t bought and paid for by developers and real estate interests, then I don’t know what. Throw in several thousands of dollars from oil and gas too, and we’ve got a good picture of Chavez. He's no friend of labor, and no progressive. He's bought by business.
Don’t believe what his campaign says, just look at his record and follow the money. That’s how you know who to trust.
Look at a few of Marty’s funders, from land developers, oil and gas businesses like Chevron, and real estate moguls:

Chavez should stop the charade campaigning like anyone would believe he's a progressive (or even a Democrat, for that matter). He should know better that no one believes him. Every day he spends sniping at Griego, all he's doing is letting Lujan Grisham sneak up on his conservative corporatist base, since she sounds just like him these days.

Both Marty Chavez and Michelle Lujan Grisham are positioning themselves to win support while Eric Griego is taking positions to support us all.
The differences between these candidates are profound. I have confidence that the electorate won't be hoodwinked.

I'm constantly amazed by the negativity of these "progressives" who speak of positive campaigning and such. Who are these people with big mouths and small minds?
