NM01: Michelle Lujan Grisham Announces Campaign Team and New Educator Endorsement
Michelle Lujan Grisham announced on January 3, 2012 her campaign team.
1st District Congressional Candidate Michelle Lujan Grisham today announced her 2012 Congressional Campaign team that includes Campaign Manager Jason Robert Henry along with other top national Democratic political consultants including Dave Gold, Anna Greenberg, and New Media Firm’s Scott Kozar, Lisa Stanley and Will Robinson.
Lujan Grisham’s team is led by Manager Jason Henry. “I am thrilled to be leading this first-rate campaign team that will really make the difference for New Mexicans in Washington. It is particularly exciting when there’s an opportunity to elect an eminently qualified candidate like Michelle Lujan Grisham who can give families a stronger voice in Congress,” said Lujan Grisham Manager Jason Henry.
Jason Henry is joined by a strong team of national consultants including long time New Mexico veteran mail consultant Dave Gold of Gold Communications and leading national pollster Anna Greenberg with Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research.
“We have assembled a strong and experienced team," added Lujan Grisham. "The expertise they bring in terms of strategy, message, creativity and credibility - combined with the experience and campaign skills of our local team- are going to give us a huge boost to win this election."
Former NM Secretary of Education Veronica Garcia Joins Long List of Supporters
And on Jan. 4, 2012 former New Mexico Secretary of Education Dr. Veronica C. Garcia, publicly endorsed Democrat Michelle Lujan Grisham in the CD-1 primary race. Dr. Garcia is one of several key New Mexico teachers, education, officials and advocates endorsing Lujan Grisham for Congress, including: national board certified teacher and district liaison Laura Speer, Tiffany Fiser, Karen Rubos, and Deborah Overmeir, a teacher at Griegos Elementary, one of Albuquerque's top performing public schools.
“Michelle’s record of putting people and children before politics is one of the many reasons that I have endorsed her. While serving together in the New Mexico Children’s Cabinet, she proved she will stand strong for what is right for students, families and New Mexico’s schools. As the former Secretary of Health, she was a pioneer in connecting children’s health issues and education. She recognized that we cannot effectively meet the educational needs of children unless we also address key socio-economic issues like poverty and health. No other candidate will be as effective for our children in Washington as Michelle,” said Dr. Veronica Garcia.
“As New Mexicans, now is a critical time to make decisions about the future of our state. As activists - engaged in education - we have to get involved now and support Lujan Grisham,” added endorser Laura Speer.
"These education leaders’ endorsements are extremely important to me,” said Lujan Grisham. They know that I will not allow Congress to gut Medicare, slash education and cut Social Security. I have a commitment to a healthy middle class, to college affordability, and the opportunity for every child to reach the American Dream.”
About Michelle Lujan Grisham: Michelle Lujan Grisham is running in the open seat for New Mexico’s First Congressional District. Isn't it a bit late to finally be assembling a campaign team?

I will be voting for Ms. Lujan Grisham because I know her to be tough on her positions yet a pleasure to work with. I believe she has the skills to work with others in Washington while sticking to her guns. I know her as being proactive in protecting citizens from policies that are not in our interest.
Also, the left-wing theatrics of Eric Griego are useless and embarrassing, while Mayor Marty Chavez only has name recognition and fluffy talk on his side. He hasn't gotten very much of importance done as mayor for all his big talk. Read some old interviews with him - read his views on homelessness and poverty straight from his mouth. No big ideas there. Also, where did the stimulus money go under his pen? These people are more like political clowns. That won't fly in DC. They will be washed ashore. Michelle is a true voice and will stand out.
