8/24: Defenders of Wildlife Meetup in ABQ with Rep. Martin Heinrich

Earlier this month, wildlife champions in Congress helped bring down the Extinction Rider, which would have prevented new species to be protected under the Endangered Species Act -- champions like U.S. Representative Martin Heinrich. On Wednesday, August 24th, Defenders is hosting a meet up in Albuquerque and are honored to be joined by Rep. Heinrich.

Representative Heinrich has been a great advocate for wildlife in New Mexico and beyond during his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives. And as anti-wildlife voices in Congress continue to assault wildlife cornerstones like the Endangered Species Act, Rep. Heinrich will be there for us.

Following Representative Heinrich’s discussion of current actions in Congress, we will discuss taking conservation activism to the next level. Come hear about what’s ahead, and then take the next step to fight anti-wildlife legislation.

Towards the end of the meet up, I will be leading a discussion on letters to the editor and making your voice heard in the media. I will also behelping to get you all of the materials you need to be a voice for Defenders on the ground. I’ll have specific tips and tools for you so that you can speak out for wildlife in your local media!
