New Ad by Lt. Gov. Candidate Lawrence Rael Uses Stop Motion Images
Lawrence Rael, a candidate for lieutenant governor in the Democratic primary, has released his second TV ad. "Proven Results That Matter" is an unusual ad in that it uses stop motion images instead of ordinary smooth-streaming video images. I assume the effect was used to differentiate the Rael ad from others that will be filling the TV airwaves from now until the June 1 primary. There are only so many ways to attract viewer attention in the run-up to any election, when candidate ads are plentiful. I've never seen this one before.
The ad focuses on Rael's long and varied experience in local government, and his achievements while there. It mentions he grew up in New Mexico, where the ad says he learned that "talk is easy -- it's actions that count," and then lays out some of Rael's achievements, including creating jobs, getting the Rail Runner implemented, bringing new technologies to the classroom, protecting water and natural resources and improving the quality of life through his involvement in the creation of senior centers, the Biopark, Isotopes Stadium and the Explora! science museum.
By the way, Rael received the endorsement of Albuquerque Journal in their Sunday edition.

Oops. Can't seem to post in the right place.
It's different, but it does seem to grab your attention.
From what I hear, Rael has significantly upped his ad buy with this new ad. Should make things interesting for the next two weeks. With only Rael and Colon on tv, it's basically a two person race now. It seems like Colon hasn't been able to close the deal, and if Rael is putting a lot more in a

@Nice Ad From my research Colon's buy for 1 week is larger then Rael's for the entire campaign. Rael will have to dig a lot deeper into Kim's purse in order to make a difference.

I've seen Jose Campos ad's on CNN and Koat 4. They are simple and low tech , it's very refreshing and seems like real New Mexico. Raels ad is nice but a little to slick for my taste.

While I think the Rail Runner is great, and Lawrence no doubt did a fine job, the endorsement by the conservative mouthpiece ABQ Urinal is a set-up. The Repubs will make Rael and his association with the Rail Runner a negative if he joins Denish on the Dem ticket. If you haven't noticed how Repubs constantly rip on the Rail Runner, you must be living in a cave. They may succeed with voters who are not paying attention or thinking.
Joe Campos can help bring clean energy jobs to NM -- he knows how to get it done, because he already has.

Joyce-
With all due respect, I don't understand your logic. So we shouldn't support Rael because he has been successful in putting together projects that reflect Democratic values, like affordable public transportation and building infrastructure that will support future growth?
I'm not worried that the GOP is going to rip the Dems for being...Dems. What's the point in believing in our core values then?

Rael likes to take credit for the railrunner, well I hope he is ready to take credit for it when the GOP show how many millions of dollars it loses evey month not to mention every year.

ED-Do you consider highways and roads as "losing money"? Who cares what the Republicans think or say. They say the same thing no matter what is happening. They have no ideas how to solve our problems so they attack, like you do

Rael is only responsible for implementing the Governor's idea, not for the existence of the Railrunner itself. The credit belongs to Governor Richardson and the voters. If Rael is going to take credit for anything, it should be all the delays and the accidents that happened in the early days from not having safety devices on all the crossings. He got the job done, alright. Over budget, late, and without necessary safety devices. Ask anybody.

The republicans want Colon or Rael so they can say that the democrat ticket is the Richarson administration all over again.
If the Dems want to win Campos is the only one who can help us win.
To pretend that the GOP won't attack Colon as being Richarsons boy and tie Rael to the money losing Rail runner is just being naive. We have to wake up and smell the GOP tactics before it's to late.I love being a democrat and I don't want to lose in November.

Santiago you are like a broken record. Do they pay you for saying the same thing over and over? I hope so.

Sean- I guess some people don't like hearing the truth. Keep living in a fantasy world where the Republicans play nice!
I love New Mexico and dread a Republican win in November.

The Santa Fe New Mexican says Jose Campos is the best running mate for Diane Denish!
Go Joe !
