4/30: Meet Shannon Bacon at Her Investiture Ceremony as 2nd Judicial Court Judge

This Friday, April 30th, Judge Shannon Bacon will be sworn as District Court Judge in Bernalillo County. Judge Bacon is currently running to keep her position. She faces opposition in the Democratic Primary on June 1st.

Judge Bacon was selected by the judicial nominating commission, and appointed to the District Court by Governor Bill Richardson last month. By State law, Judges must stand for election in one partisan contest after appointment. Judge Bacon was recently endorsed by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME, Council 18).

Judge Bacon was raised in Albuquerque in a family with five generations of lawyers. It was there she learned a deep and lasting respect for the law and the importance that an honest and impartial judiciary plays in the life of our community.
