Dem Party of Santa Fe County Passes Resolutions on Food Tax, Political Contributions
Bravo! Yesterday, the Democratic Party of Santa Fe County adopted two resolutions by unanimous votes that will next be taken up by the State Party for consideration. One resolution opposes taxes on food. The second bans political contributions from those doing business with government. Both support positions that are being advocated by the non-partisan think tank, Think New Mexico:
NOW THEREFORE, the Democratic Party of Santa Fe County supports the efforts of Think New Mexico and other organizations to keep the tax off food.
NOW THEREFORE, the Democratic Party of Santa Fe County endorses Think New Mexico’s proposal to ban political contributions and bundling by lobbyists, government contractors, and seekers of government subsidies.

Now the state agencies can try to concentrate on competent contractors that have a record for delivery on budget and deadline rather than whether they have paid off some politico to play.
