Sierra Club Seminar in Santa Fe: The Next Big Thing in Automobiles
From the Northern New Mexico Group of the Sierra Club:
Learn about how the petroleum economy will be converted to a green economy at a free public seminar at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 17, at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Santa Fe. The Church is located at 107 Barcelona Road, just north of Cordova off Don Gaspar Avenue.
Fred Vang, a Santa Fe-based automotive consultant, will present a roadmap of how we can move away from petroleum dependence to a green economy. Topics covered will include:
- Is the vision of lightweight carbon-fiber cars fact or fiction?
- What engines will dominate – plug-in electric, hybrid, diesel?
- Why is Exxon investing $600 million in pond scum (algae)?
- What actions should you take today?
Attendees will also have the opportunity for discussion on short-term and long-term issues related to transportation.
