Dem Women of Sandoval County to Host Wine Tasting, Silent Auction Fundraiser Nov. 15

From the Democratic Women of Sandoval County:
We are hosting a Wine Tasting and Silent Auction Fund Raiser on Sunday, November 15th, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Anasazi Fields Winery in Placitas. Click for flyer (pdf). The event is being held to raise money to support our organizational goals and the many events we hold throughout the year. Furthermore, we are encouraging women and young adults to seek training to become our next Democratic leaders.

In 2009 we sponsored many educational and social events including:

• Transition town: Creating a green community
• Alcohol & Drug Awareness
• Breast Cancer Awareness
• Veterans Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
• Women and Money
• Straw Poll for Candidates running for Lt. Governor
• Annual picnic with legislative speakers

Many of these events cost money for room rental, office supplies, and various other items. One of our goals for 2010 is to send two women to the New Mexico Democratic Women's Conference. As you know, health care, campaign finance reform, budget and education are to be voted on at the next legislative session. We will keep informed of national issues facing our country to help provide education on these issues and support our Democratic candidates.

Members with dues paid up will be admitted with a donation for the auction OR a food item to serve 12 or more OR $10.00. If you are able to do more please support the club as much as you can and help us reach our goals. Most important is to attend the party. Join the fun, meet our local candidates, and purchase some of our wonderful auction items. Please contact Beth Herschman at 892-8751 to donate your item.

Please help us to have a large attendance at this event by sending the flyer to your email and mailing lists and posting the flyer wherever you can. Bring a few friends with you. The silent auction will be awesome -- come purchase all your holiday gifts!

Directions: From exit 242 off I -25 go East on Highway 165 approximately 6 miles to a sign “Entering the Historic Village of Placitas.” Turn left on Camino de los Pueblitos, which is the first street on the left past the sign. Stay on Camino de los Pueblitos which ends at the Anasazi Fields Winery (see ).
