Volunteer Now: Domestic Partnership Bill in Limbo, Not Dead

From the Human Rights Campaign: On Monday, the New Mexico Senate Judiciary Committee ended a hearing on SB 12, the Domestic Partnership bill, in a 5-5 deadlock when State Senator Bernadette Sanchez walked out on the vote. This followed a positive vote last week by the Public Affairs Committee. Now the legislation is tabled, in limbo and in jeopardy – but not dead. The bill can be revived as the Session progresses, and there is also a domestic partnership bill introduced on the House side.

That’s why we need you to act now!

This weekend, HRC will be canvassing in Albuquerque and making phone calls to Santa Fe. All it takes is a few hours of your time to generate the support in priority districts to pass this bill. Will you join us and push for equality? See times and locations below:
