The Party That Ruined America
Just read it: by James Howard Kunstler. Now repeat after me: "The Party That Ruined America." Say it again. Put it in every email, every blog comment, every diary, every post. Pass it on. Mention it to those you canvass and those you call. Tell it to your friends, your neighbors, your colleagues. It is the truth and we can use it to beat them, at last, as we must. And then we can see if that means anything. And it must. And it will, if we unite and make it so. (h/t to my fellow traveler in Ft. Worth)

We've socialized capital and now insurance. Why not health care?
I guess that would be helping ordinary Americans rather than the greedy fat cats. Health care for all would be socialist.
This is a result of the "smaller" government party. Now, we are ALL in the business of lending and collecting money and insuring everything as well. I do not recall any Harry and Louise TV commercials discussing nationalizing our finance and insurance industries.
All we make are weapons anymore.
The other day I saw a Dorito Truck rolling through Socorro. My comment was that the truck should be delivering corn. Just the corn to be locally milled and made into tortillas locally. This would be more sustainable, more healthy and provide dignified local employment.
Yes, deliver just the grain in sacks just like in Africa.

The Democratic led congress, which, by the way, is on break right now, has millions of dollars invested in these corporations that have been absorbed by the US government. Hold your legislators accountable.

I hate to tell you Linn, but the Congress is in session trying to come up with something to keep our "conservative" created crisis based on their thievery and fraud from toppling the world economy.
Investing in corporations is one thing but pushing since Reagan for removing every safeguard from the financial system and calling it "deregulation" is what the "conservative" movement has done. That was not done by Democrats, who have a very small majority in the House and Senate since 2006.
McCain was one of the top leaders in the deregulation fiasco. He cannot be allowed to become president.
