(Updated) McCain Town Hall Meeting Set for ABQ 7/15
Update: It didn't take much time for the event to fill up, most likely with GOP insiders who won't upset McCain's applecart. It should be like watching paint dry. Let's hope there are lots of people outside raising a peaceful ruckus though ...

According to this morning's scuttlebutt, McCain will be at a town hall meeting in Albuquerque on July 15th, at the Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town. Doors will open at 8:45 AM. No word yet on whether attendees will be forced to sign a loyalty oath to the GOP ....
Later ... The event is now on McCain's campaign website, where it appears that anyone can RSVP and it says you don't have to receive a reply back to attend. Oh, too bad we'll be heading to Netroots Nation in Austin that day, but I'm sure other progressives will be standing by to greet McSame.
I guess I could go to the $1000 per person fundraiser the night before or dig deep (very deep) for the $2300 it'll cost to have a photo taken with Go Johnny Go, but I think I have to watch the grass growing that evening.

Ask him why he was eating cake on the tarmac in Phoenix while Americans were dying in New Orleans.

Ask him why he doesn't care if we keep spending millions a minute in Iraq for the next 100 years whether or not our troops are getting killed. Where will the money come from?

Ask him why his security detail in Denver had a 61 year old Librarian removed on July 7th because she had a sign saying McCain=Bush.

If he wants to put a lie to the sign, he should stop acting like Bush, who did the exact same thing in 2004.

Ask him why he thinks the electorate is stupid enough to believe:
- his proposed 18¢ a gallon gas tax holiday" will do anything other than encourage more driving thus putting more pressure on gas supplies increasing gas prices in the long run.
- He can balance the budget by the end of his first term considering that he proposes following the same disastrous Bu$h economic plan that has led to astronomical deficit and national debt levels.

Ask him: You have voted repeatedly against allowing women to obtain birth control.
Does that mean that the 98 percent of women who’ve used birth control will lose access to it under a McCain administration?

Ask him why he keeps calling himself a "Straight Talker" when he continually lies.
Ask him why he votes against raises in the minimum wage.
Ask him why he doesn't think gay people should get equal justice under the law.
