U.S. Senate Race in New Mexico: Photo & Quote of the Day

And in this Politico piece, Albuquerque Mayor Marty Chavez is quoted dissing Tom Udall again:

But Chavez remains unbowed in his determination to seek the seat. In an interview with Politico, Chavez said his achievements as mayor would compare well with what he called Udall’s lackluster record in the House.

“You take a tough-charging mayor against a congressman who is not known for having done anything,” Chavez said.

“He’s never had the occasion to make tough decisions to offend people. You’re polling at the peak of his popularity. He’ll find that lead will evaporate like wet tissue paper.”

I guess Chavez is referring to "tough decisions" like killing a city ethics bill or fighting a raise in the minimum wage for Albuquerque, or hiring bad boy Republican Greg Payne to run the city's Transportation Department ....

What about Udall's vote against the National Labs, and the vote against the WHIP program, and did you know he actually voted against the San Juan Chama Project that your golden child Heinrich now promotes? Look it up! Wait till all this comes out.

He voted to cut spending on nuke weapons because he is wise enough to see that if the labs are to survive they'll have to switch to sustainable energy technology. He worked to get more money for the labs' other work.

Many were against WIPP because of the problems with radioactive waste storage. He was representing his district that didn't want trucks loaded with the stuff moving through.

Water issues are complex and if you are representing one district you usually don't vote to give your water away to another.

I think John Gallegos is a Chavez supporter... or at the very least an anti-Udall troll. I've seen him commenting about Udall around the state blogosphere lately, including at my own blog.

He doesn't much seem to like Udall, that's for sure.

I'm thinkin' Chavez is exhibiting his true potty mouth what with all of these references to "toilet paper" and "tissue."

He's gonna get flushed.

Maybe he's just gearing up for all the "paperwork."

lol
Lordy...

Does that make him anal retentive or just a bully?

I wish Marty would "evaporate like wet toilet paper." I don't mind Mr. Gallegos trolling on local blogs. I assure you, I despise Marty at least as much as John likes him. Besides, he's probably as much a Rethug as Marty is.
