Iraq Quote of the Day: 363 Tons of Cash Goes Missing

"Over $4 billion in cash, which came from Iraqi oil exports and other sources, was sent by the Federal Reserve to Baghdad on pallets aboard U.S. military planes just before government control was given back to the Iraqis, Reuters says. The bills reportedly weighed hundreds of tons.

"Who in their right mind would send 363 tons of cash into a war zone? But that's exactly what our government did," Waxman said, according to Reuters." -- Raw Story

Was listening to Sam Sedar when a Trucker called in with his perspective on how many trucks it would take to haul that much "cash", he claimed to do the math considering pallet size etc, and said it would take 16 truck trailers, pretty unbelievable but more unbelievable is the whole idea of a money transfer like that. BTW, it was Iraqi money but when it went missing the US Taxpayers replaced it, that alone should make every person in this country want to see Bu$h and his cronies in prison! He now wants to cut education, health care and other programs in his new budget so he can pour even more money into Iraq. This makes my Blood Pressure go right off the scale, grrrrr!

In the hearing yesterday it sure was satisfying to see Bremer hit with question after question. What a loser. Hard to keep up with the money numbers though. I think they had it up to $22 billion that was lost or not tracked or whatever. I can't help picturing the free for all with everyone who came in contact with the piles of cash grabbing some for themselves. I wonder how much Bremer and his pals took.

Why aren't Republicans upset about all this money flying out the door without even a simple tracking system? They defend their own no matter what. Talk about no morality.
