Great--but we need Bill at an Indy or even a Reug Rally, not just speaking to the faithful--can he go door to door??

This is to get out the vote and get TV coverage. Remember Bill won big here and can have an impact. There are few people still undecided. The difference will be in who turns out their voters.

Something that surprised me... as I've mentioned before, I am a registered Independent, but have been anti-Bush since I saw how he blundered around after 9/11... that is, he'd make funny noises, point somewhere on a map, and it'd get bombed to hell.

My fiance however has been a staunch supporter of Bush and is a registered Republican. She's told me that she's getting irritated with him, and at Wilson for all the lies... and that Wilson is not getting her vote this time around.

The negative ads are back-firing. Stop the negative ads NOW!
Patricia Madrid is going to lose votes at this point.
Citizens want to see what Patricia Madrid will do and what she represents.
The problem is that the Democratic negative ads do not directly answer to the right wing Rove attacks. They just scatter shot attack back. There is a disconnect occuring here.
The folks are sick of it.

People need to get over this "sick of it" mind set. This is a typical election campaign and ads, negative and positive are part of it. If people decide not to vote for Madrid or any Democratic candidate because of this reason, they obviously don't get what is at stake here. This is it people, our last chance to stop the Bush horrors or at least take him down a few notches!

qofdisks, in reality, Madrid's running a comparitively clean campaign. Yes, there is mudslinging from both sides, but a very large majority of it, and the first of it, came from Wilson's side.

Madrid's has mostly been in the nature of responding to Wilson's accusations.

I don't like political mudslinging either, but right now, it's the simple and harsh reality of politics. And if there is going to be a clean campaign, both sides have to do it... not just the democrat, not just the republican.

I agree with Randall. Most of Madrid's ads have been responding to Wilson's dishonest accusations or pointing out how bad Wilson has been on the issues, which is what campaigns are all about. I hate it when the talking heads say both sides are doing negative ads. There's a big difference between saying your opponent made a bad vote on Medicare or the Iraq War and putting out sleaze about one of their novels or some criminal that got off years ago because of how a law is written.
