Free Streaming: Neil Young's New CD Living With War

    Cover

Go to True Majority's site to , Neil Young's new anti-war, anti-Bush album. The album will be available at digital retailers beginning May 2nd. CDs will be available in stores early May. See our previous post for background.

Support for the Iraq war is now down to 28 percent.

The True Majority link above plays the whole album in sequence. You can go to to play individual tracks or try clicking for . You can also listen as MySpace. And here are the lyrics to all the songs and today's New York Times review. Excerpt:

"We are the silent majority now, and we haven't done a damn thing," Mr. Young said. "We've stood by and watched this happen. But there's more of us than there is of them, and we have to do something. When people start talking and see they can get away with it, it's going to happen everywhere. It's going to be a landslide, it's going to be a tidal wave. This is just the tip of it."

You can also send this petition to your Senators from True Majority's site:

The President's latest $68 billion supplemental request is the fourth time in three years the administration has asked for extra, unplanned billions to be taken from other critical needs and poured into the unending war in the Middle East.

"Staying the course" is costing our nation $100,000 a minute. Our soldiers, our children and our nation are not served by continuing to plunge heedlessly ahead.

I urge you to vote FOR Sen. Russ Feingold's amendment to the supplemental funding request, which would require that our troops leave Iraq by Dec. 31st, 2006.

Here's more info on Senator Russ Feingold's amendment to bring the troops home. And to take this to the streets, show up Saturday morning at the anti-Iraq, anti-Iran demonstration here in Albuquerque.  Flyer.

    LET'S IMPEACH THE PRESIDENT

Let’s impeach the president for lying
And leading our country into war
Abusing all the power that we gave him
And shipping all our money out the door

He’s the man who hired all the criminals
The White House shadows who hide behind closed doors
And bend the facts to fit with their new stories
Of why we have to send our men to war

Let’s impeach the president for spying
On citizens inside their own homes
Breaking every law in the country
By tapping our computers and telephones

What if Al Qaeda blew up the levees
Would New Orleans have been safer that way
    Sheltered by our government’s protection
Or was someone just not home that day?

    Let’s impeach the president
For hijacking our religion and using it to get elected
    Dividing our country into colors
And still leaving black people neglected

Thank god he’s cracking down on steroids
Since he sold his old baseball team
There’s lot of people looking at big trouble
But of course the president is clean

Pearl Jam also has a new antiwar song on their new CD called World Wide Suicide. You can download it here:

    WORLD WIDE SUICIDE

I felt the earth on Monday
    It moved beneath my feet
In the form of a morning paper
Laid out for me to see
I saw his face in a color picture
    I recognized the name
Could not stop staring at the
    Face I'd never see again

It's a shame to awaken, world aflame
What does it mean when the war has taken over?
It's the same every day in a hell man-made
What can be saved, and who will be left to hold her?

    The whole world...
    Will now burn...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

    The whole world...
    world over
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

    Medals on a wooden mantle
    Next to a handsome face
That the president took for granted
    Writing checks that others pay
    And in all the madness
    Thought becomes numb and naive
So much to talk about and
    Nothing for them to say

It's the same everyday and the wave won't break
Tell you to pray, while the devil's on their shoulder
Laying claim to the take that soldiers save
Tell them to quit it, the truth's already out there

    The whole world...
    Will now burn...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

    The whole world...
    Will now burn...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

Looking in the eyes of the fallen
You got to know there is another, another, another, another, another...
    Way

It's a shame to awaken, world aflame
What does it mean when the war has taken over?
It's the same everyday and the wave won't break
Tell you to pray, while the devil's on their shoulder

    The whole world...
    Will now burn...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

    The whole world...
    Will now burn...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

    The whole world...
    Will now burn...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

    The whole world...
    Will now burn...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

I love Neil's new one! Rough, ragged, immediate and right in Bush's face!

We need more artists like Neil. Don't forget that he was the one who wrote Ohio and got it out within days after Kent State, an amazing feat for those days.

A tipping point is almost here. I can feel it.

Listening to it in order, with that full chorus version of America the Beautiful at the end, is really moving. Would be electrifying to see this done live!

Great new album! Hitting many of the problems of today. The song about Dont need no medicine and he goes through the list of ads saying nausea and other medicine effects. Big pharma!

I have been listening to it twice through. I streamed it from the true majority stream.

I too, like Kossian above, was touched by America the beautiful. Not to get weepy but I closed my eyes when america the beautiful came on. After all that layout of the chaos we are within, I liked that song for the first time in a while! No baseball event or huge sports event just a great rendition of america the beautiful.

Thanks Neil!!! For bringing music into the forefront of this mess we are in. Maybe we can get a few more to listen.

The lyrics are top notch. Now if we only had real radio stations!
