Sunday (Hurricane Relief) Bird Blogging
People have been asking how the parakeet babies born this Spring are doing. Here they are with Whitey, their albino mama:
That's Hambone, the eldest, on the right, followed by mama Whitey, Peanut, the youngest, and Jumbo, the middle chick. They are all very healthy and lively, but have been worried about their avian friends, as well as others pets and animals in the Gulf states following Hurricane Katrina.
Here are a few links where you can make a donation or volunteer to help the thousands of pets and other animals caught in the chaos that is the aftermath of Katrina:
The Humane Society of the United States
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
Noah's Wish (Unique animal welfare organization dedicated exclusively to rescuing and sheltering animals in disasters throughout the United States and Canada)
